The VSAN Ultrasonic Level Transmitter is a non-contact level measurement instrument designed to provide accurate, continuous, and reliable level monitoring of liquids, slurries, and selected solid materials in industrial process applications. Utilizing advanced ultrasonic technology, the transmitter measures the distance between the sensor and the product surface without making physical contact with the process medium, ensuring maintenance-free operation and long service life.
The transmitter emits high-frequency ultrasonic pulses toward the surface of the measured medium. These pulses are reflected back to the sensor, and the instrument calculates the distance based on the Time-of-Flight (TOF) principle. The measured distance is then converted into an accurate level value, making the instrument ideal for applications where hygienic operation, corrosion resistance, and non-contact measurement are required.
The VSAN Ultrasonic Level Transmitter is suitable for measuring the level of water, wastewater, chemicals, oils, fuels, acids, alkalis, solvents, slurries, and storage tank liquids, as well as selected bulk solids under suitable process conditions. Since the sensor does not come into contact with the process media, it is particularly suitable for corrosive, contaminated, or aggressive liquids where conventional contact-type sensors may experience wear or fouling.
Designed with advanced digital signal processing technology, the transmitter automatically compensates for environmental factors such as temperature variations and suppresses false echoes caused by tank structures, agitators, ladders, or pipework. This ensures highly stable and accurate level measurement even in challenging industrial environments.
The VSAN Ultrasonic Level Transmitter features a rugged IP66/IP67/IP68-rated enclosure (model dependent), providing excellent protection against dust, moisture, vibration, and harsh outdoor conditions. Sensor components are manufactured using high-quality PVDF, PP, PTFE, or corrosion-resistant engineering plastics, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of industrial chemicals.
The transmitter provides a standard 4–20 mA output, with optional HART Communication, RS485 Modbus RTU, Relay Outputs, and Digital Display, enabling seamless integration with PLC, DCS, SCADA Systems, Industrial Automation Networks, and Remote Monitoring Systems.
Available in various measuring ranges and process connection options such as Threaded, Flanged, and Custom Mounting, the VSAN Ultrasonic Level Transmitter is easy to install and requires minimal maintenance. It can be configured using local programming keys, HART communicators, or software, depending on the model.
The VSAN Ultrasonic Level Transmitter is widely used in Water & Wastewater Treatment Plants, Chemical Industries, Oil & Gas, Food & Beverage, Pharmaceutical Manufacturing, Power Plants, Mining Industries, Paper & Pulp Mills, Steel Plants, Cement Plants, Storage Tank Farms, Pumping Stations, Irrigation Systems, and Industrial Automation, where reliable and continuous level monitoring is essential.
With its non-contact measuring technology, high accuracy, intelligent signal processing, and rugged industrial construction, the VSAN Ultrasonic Level Transmitter offers a cost-effective and dependable solution for industrial level measurement applications.
The VSAN Ultrasonic Level Transmitter operates on the Time-of-Flight (TOF) Ultrasonic Measurement Principle.
The ultrasonic sensor continuously emits high-frequency sound waves toward the surface of the liquid or material inside the tank.
When the ultrasonic pulse reaches the product surface, it is reflected back to the sensor. The transmitter accurately measures the time taken for the ultrasonic signal to travel from the sensor to the product surface and back.
Using the known speed of sound in air, the transmitter calculates the distance between the sensor and the material surface. The level is then determined by subtracting the measured distance from the configured tank height.
The transmitter continuously updates the level measurement and converts it into a standard 4–20 mA analog output or digital communication signal. Advanced signal processing automatically filters unwanted echoes and compensates for temperature changes, ensuring stable and reliable measurement even in difficult process conditions.
The calculated level data is transmitted to PLC, DCS, SCADA systems, or industrial controllers for process monitoring, inventory management, alarm generation, and automation.
The VSAN Ultrasonic Level Transmitter is widely used for continuous level measurement in various industrial applications.
