The VSAN Inline Ultrasonic Flow Meter is a high-performance flow measurement instrument designed to provide accurate, reliable, and maintenance-free measurement of clean liquids in fully filled pipelines. Utilizing advanced Transit-Time Ultrasonic Technology, the flow meter measures the flow velocity by transmitting ultrasonic signals through the flowing liquid. Unlike conventional mechanical flow meters, the Inline Ultrasonic Flow Meter contains no moving parts, resulting in zero mechanical wear, minimal maintenance, and excellent long-term stability.
The flow meter is manufactured with precision-engineered ultrasonic sensors that are permanently integrated into the flow body, ensuring superior measurement accuracy and repeatability. Its streamlined flow tube minimizes pressure loss while maintaining high performance over a wide flow range. The instrument is suitable for measuring potable water, purified water, chilled water, hot water, cooling water, process water, and other homogeneous clean liquids with low suspended solids.
The VSAN Inline Ultrasonic Flow Meter is available in wafer, flanged, threaded, and sanitary process connections to suit various industrial requirements. It supports multiple output options, including 4–20 mA, Pulse Output, Frequency Output, RS485 Modbus RTU, HART (optional), and Ethernet (optional), enabling seamless integration with PLC, DCS, SCADA, and Industrial Automation systems.
Designed for continuous industrial operation, the transmitter features a large backlit LCD display showing instantaneous flow rate, totalized flow, velocity, diagnostics, and alarm status. The robust IP65/IP67 enclosure ensures reliable performance in demanding environments. With high measurement accuracy, low maintenance, and long operational life, the VSAN Inline Ultrasonic Flow Meter is the ideal solution for industries requiring precise and dependable liquid flow measurement.
The VSAN Inline Ultrasonic Flow Meter operates on the Transit-Time Ultrasonic Principle. Two ultrasonic transducers are permanently installed within the flow meter body at a specific angle.
During operation, one transducer sends ultrasonic pulses in the direction of the fluid flow while the other sends pulses against the direction of flow. When the liquid is flowing, the ultrasonic pulse traveling downstream reaches the receiving transducer slightly faster than the pulse traveling upstream.
The electronic transmitter continuously measures this extremely small transit-time difference using advanced digital signal processing techniques. Based on this time difference, the flow velocity is accurately calculated. By combining the flow velocity with the known cross-sectional area of the meter, the transmitter calculates the volumetric flow rate with high precision.
Since there are no moving mechanical components inside the measuring section, the flow meter experiences virtually no wear, provides long-term measurement stability, and requires very little maintenance. This technology also minimizes pressure loss and ensures accurate flow measurement over a wide operating range.
The VSAN Inline Ultrasonic Flow Meter is suitable for continuous flow measurement in a wide range of industrial and commercial applications.
