The VSAN Capacitance Level Transmitter is a highly reliable and versatile continuous level measuring instrument designed to accurately monitor the level of liquids, slurries, powders, granules, bulk solids, and interface applications in a wide range of industrial processes. Utilizing advanced Capacitance Measurement Technology, the transmitter provides continuous level measurement with high accuracy, excellent repeatability, and dependable long-term performance, even in challenging process environments.
The measuring principle is based on the change in electrical capacitance between the sensing probe and the tank wall (or a reference electrode) as the level of the process material changes. As the material level rises or falls, the dielectric constant surrounding the probe changes, causing a proportional change in capacitance. The transmitter continuously measures this capacitance variation and converts it into a precise level output.
The VSAN Capacitance Level Transmitter is suitable for measuring a wide variety of media including water, wastewater, chemicals, acids, alkalis, oils, fuels, solvents, edible oils, liquid fertilizers, powders, cement, fly ash, plastic granules, grains, food products, pharmaceutical liquids, and other conductive or non-conductive materials. It is particularly suitable for applications where traditional float or ultrasonic level measurement methods may not provide reliable results.
Manufactured using premium-quality materials such as SS316L Stainless Steel, PTFE, PFA, PVDF, Ceramic Insulation, and corrosion-resistant engineering plastics, the transmitter offers excellent resistance to aggressive chemicals, abrasion, moisture, and harsh industrial environments. Depending on the application, the sensing probe is available in Rigid Rod, Flexible Cable, Fully Insulated Rod, Bare Rod, Rope Type, and Coaxial Probe configurations.
The transmitter provides a standard 4–20 mA analog output, with optional HART Communication, RS485 Modbus RTU, Profibus PA, Relay Outputs, and Local LCD Display, allowing seamless integration with PLC, DCS, SCADA Systems, Industrial Automation Networks, Remote Monitoring Systems, and Process Control Systems.
The VSAN Capacitance Level Transmitter incorporates advanced digital electronics featuring automatic calibration, temperature compensation, digital signal processing, programmable measuring range, false signal filtering, self-diagnostics, and EMI/RFI protection, ensuring stable and accurate level measurement under varying operating conditions.
Designed for demanding industrial applications, the transmitter features a rugged IP66/IP67/IP68-rated enclosure, providing excellent protection against dust, moisture, vibration, and outdoor environmental conditions. Optional Explosion-Proof (Ex-proof) versions are available for hazardous area installations in accordance with industrial safety standards.
The VSAN Capacitance Level Transmitter is widely used in Chemical Industries, Oil & Gas, Petrochemical Plants, Water & Wastewater Treatment, Power Plants, Food & Beverage Industries, Pharmaceutical Manufacturing, Cement Plants, Steel Plants, Mining Industries, Paper & Pulp Mills, Marine Applications, Storage Tank Farms, OEM Equipment, and Industrial Automation, where accurate and continuous level measurement is essential.
With its robust construction, advanced capacitance sensing technology, and intelligent communication capabilities, the VSAN Capacitance Level Transmitter provides a reliable and maintenance-friendly solution for industrial level measurement applications.
The VSAN Capacitance Level Transmitter operates on the Capacitance Measurement Principle.
The sensing probe and the metallic tank wall (or an internal reference electrode in non-metallic tanks) together form a capacitor. The process material acts as the dielectric medium between these two conductive surfaces.
As the level of the material changes, the dielectric constant around the sensing probe also changes. This results in a proportional change in the capacitance value.
The transmitter continuously measures these capacitance variations using a high-precision electronic circuit. An internal microprocessor processes the measured signal by performing temperature compensation, digital filtering, linearization, and calibration before converting it into a standard 4–20 mA analog output or digital communication signal.
The level information is then transmitted to PLC, DCS, SCADA systems, or industrial controllers for continuous monitoring, inventory management, alarm generation, pump control, and process automation.
This measuring principle provides highly stable and reliable level measurement for both conductive and non-conductive materials, even under demanding industrial conditions.
The VSAN Capacitance Level Transmitter is widely used for continuous level measurement across various industrial sectors.
